We call UNESCO world heritage Town of Lunenburg our home, and we have been proud to do so since 1971. This picturesque seaside town is home to around 2000 people. Our streets are tree lined and rich with amazing and unique architecture. You will be hard pressed to find two homes that look the same, and if they do chances are they are far from the same colour.
Lunenburg boasts many festivals and events. Each year the town hosts:
The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival
The Lunenburg Folk Art Festival
Canada Day Celebrations
Christmas Parade
Street Fest and more.
In addition to these special events the town has a host of established cultural centres including:
The Lunenburg Academy of Music (LAMP)
Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) Artists in Residence.
Beyond these cultural highlights the town plays host to many established international businesses including:
and 100's of small and medium sized enterprises.
Lunenburg is as wonderful a place to live as it is to visit. There are lots of attractions for those coming to spend the day. And our residents have the opportunity to explore these places as well. Some of our attractions include:
The Bandstand
Halifax and Southwestern Railway Museum
and our Historic Churches.
